La Vicki i jo vam tenir l’ oportunitat d’ assistir al congres TESOL del 8 al 10 de Marc de  2019 a Oviedo. Entre les xerrades i tallers interessants destaquem la conferència de David Marsh, English Language Teaching & Learning: Change of age or age of change?  sobre com les noves teconologies estan transformant l’aprenentatge de llengues estrangeres  i canviant els habits dels aprenents  i el que cal fer com a professors per adaptar-nos a aquests canvis i la de David James, Music and Simple Technology to Promote Pronunciation Rhetoric and Fun.

D’ altra banda també vam poder impartir el taller How effective roles and relationships in the classroom can promote flexibility and autonomy in language learning amb una audiència d’uns 20 professors de primària, secundària i universitat que van participar de forma molt entusiasta i van ajudar a crear una atmosfera de col.laboració molt engrescadora.

El taller va tractar quatre temes principals que considerem essencials per crear un entorn d’ aprenentatge òptim::

– El rol del docent i de l’alumne dins de l’aula

– Gestió de classe

– Com fomentar l’autonomia dels aprenents

-Formació i autoreflexió dels aprenents i els docents

Language learning workshop at the University of Urbino

On 17 February 2017,  Vicki and Teresa had the opportunity to do a workshop at the School of Foreign Languages and Literature of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, Italy, as part of the National Languages Championship.

The title of the workshop was How effective roles and relationships in the classroom can promote flexibility and autonomy in language learning and the audience was comprised of language teachers at high school and university level, which provided a highly fruitful atmosphere of collaboration and it gave us all the chance to learn about different teaching environments.

The workshop dealt with 4 main areas which are key to providing an  optimum learning environment:

– Teacher/Student Roles and the knock-on effect;

– Effective Classroom Management;

-Raising Learner Autonomy;

-Learner Training →Self Awareness;
