The online portal Bene Comune asked me to reflect on the effect of Covid19 pandemics on Italian youth. The result (in Italian) is available here.
It is still preliminary to have a clear outlook of how the Covid19 pandemics will impact on younger generations, but we can suppose that scarring effects will be longlasting in terms of loss of education and difficulties in entering the labour markets. The data we have so far demonstrates that Covid19 has increased the already existing inequalities, with women and youth on the losing side. A call for policies reducing inequalities is urgent, in order to reduce the possibile negative consequences on youth in next years.
