Research Area

My current lines of research focus on early modern women’s writing (1550-1750), with particular emphasis on prose writing, poetry, and pre-novelistic discourses. I study the distribution and reception of seventeenth-century women’s writing within the European context as well as theoretical aspects of early modern women’s intellectual history. Thanks to two postdoctoral research positions at UCLA and Harvard University respectively, I was able to widen my research focus to include eighteenth-century manuscript poetry and socio-economic considerations in the study of early modern textual production by women. Dissertation Supervision

I will be happy to supervise dissertations on textual, interpretive, theoretical, historical and socio-economic aspects of early modern women’s writing (1550-1750), with especial interest in prose writing, poetry, and pre-novelistic discourses.
