Doing a PhD on L2 speech: Tips for a smoother entry into academia

Invitation link to join the session.

Dr Celia Gorba lectures in the English Department at the UAB in the field of phonetics and phonology. She is part of a research group at the same institution, in which she conducts research on the acquisition of second-language speech. This presentation will go over the process of completing a PhD in linguistics by referring to the speaker’s own personal experience and work. It provides a first-hand account of experience in the initial stages of an academic career and attempts to shed light on some of the doubts and concerns that a prospective PhD student may have.
