Epigraphy & Archaeometry from Aquitania – at the Journée ILA (Bordeaux, 20 June 2018)

In accordance with the collaboration between the ROMAE project and the project «Populations d’Aquitaine à l’époque gallo-romaine : réalité sociale et originalité culturelle, approches épigraphiques» project, directed by Milagros Navarro Caballero (AUSONIUS) and funded by the Région Aquitaine, the Journée d’études “Les inscriptions romaines d’Aquitaine”  has seen the presentation of the first results on a completely interdisciplinary study of an assemblage of epigraphic monuments from Aquitania. Its aim was twofold : to attempt to systematize -as much as possible and with all the “buts”- the prestige embodied on the inscribed text and the identification of the provenance of the marble used.
