CORE Heritage bites #1: “Social relevance & responsibilities of heritage interpretation” by Darko Babić

Next Wednesday 16th of December, Dr. Darko Babić gives a talk on the topic of “Social relevance & responsibilities of heritage interpretation”  in the new cycle of talks named CORE Heritage bites, where cultural heritage meets research and society. Organized by the CORE on Cultural Heritage and coorganized by CEPAP.

The talk will held on 501 classroom of the Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres (UAB) at 13:00 o’clock.

Darko Babić  (PhD in Museum/Heritage Studies; Assistant Professor) is acting Chair of the Sub-Department of Museology and Heritage Management at the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences (University of Zagreb, Croatia. After earning his double MA degree (Ethnology & Information Sciences) he gained experience working as project manager on international projects, as an organiser of museum/heritage conferences, as an archivist and as assistant on national TV before pursuing his academic career. He is active in contributing to the advancement of the museum/heritage profession serving as the Chairman of ICOM Croatia, as a member of the board of ICOM-ICTOP, as a museum advisor to the European Museum Forum and as a member of the Supervisory Committee to the European Association for Heritage Interpretation.

His research interests include topics related to museums/heritage & development, management and interpretation. Darko also has working experience on several EU projects as well as a free-lance consultant (& reviewer) of museum/heritage projects in the SE Europe region including small scale NGO/CSO initiatives which he often doing pro-bono.
