Communitative Objective: the purpose of this activity is to improve your reading skills and vocabulary about a specific topic as well as to be able to talk and discuss about the ideas of a given text.

Task: read the article attached to the activity.  First write down all the words in the article that you did not understand and use this website to find the definitions.  After you are done reading, discuss about the article’s main points with a partner.  You might like to use the questions at the end of the article to help guide your conversation if you have trouble.

TARGET versus GOAL 2

  • Objective

To consolidate your understanding of the slightly different meanings of target and goal.

  • Task

Decide the missing word in the following sentences is TARGET or GOAL and write it down in the appropriate form (i.e. singular or plural, noun or verb). Though in most cases either word is possible, one is always more likely than the other.

Task:
Work in pairs. Above you have some images (before and after). Compare them by using the comparatives.
